China's excavator sales model and flow region data analysis report from January to May 2024

As 2024 progresses, the performance of the excavator market has shown a certain degree of volatility. From the overall data from January to May, although the sales of excavators continued to decline, the decline has slowed down.

In terms of exports, medium-sized excavators of 18.5-28.5t have the largest sales, accounting for 35%; followed by small excavators below 6t, accounting for 28%. Specifically, from January to May, the export sales of small excavators were 18,960 units, accounting for 46.40%; the export sales of medium-sized excavators were 14,330 units, accounting for 35.07%; and the export sales of large excavators were 7,574 units, accounting for 18.53%.

The specific sales distribution is as follows:

6 tons or less: 648 units

6-10 tons: 3,088 units

10-18.5 tons: 1,143 units

18.5-28.5 tons: 266 units

28.5-40 tons: 17 units

40 tons or more: 7 units

During the period from January to May 2024, the domestic excavator sales totaled 45,746 units. Among them, Jiangsu Province led the national market with sales of 2,814 units. At the same time, the cumulative sales of Jiangsu, Sichuan and Hebei provinces exceeded 2,500 units. In addition, the sales of all provinces/autonomous regions showed a positive growth trend compared with last year.
